On 6 Jun 1837 Nathan married Rachel SMITH, in Elizabethton, Carter Co. Tennessee. Born in 1823. Was on the census for Carter Co., Tennessee in 1860. Vol. 2, 1981.

Her last name spelled Schmidt on George W. Greenway's Death Certificate[20]
In the 1860 Census Tennessee Vol. 2, pg. 341, 1981 is the following on Rachel Greenway.
Rachel head of household age 37
George W. 14, William 12, Mary J. 8.
James is listed on page 340 as age 17 and living with family of same name as there was and asterix to the left of his name.
Also noted is that Nathan her husband is not mentioned.[21]
