Family of Thomas PRIOR (1) & UNKNOWN

2. Joseph PRIOR. Born in 1623 in Watford, Herts Co., England. Joseph died on 14 Aug 1692 in Duxbury, MA.

We know that Thomas Prior came to America in the company of Reverand Ralph Lothrop in 1635. When Thomas died Joseph went to live with Rev. Ralph. Joseph is mentioned in the Reveran's will:

Rev. Ralph, came to N.E. in 1636. Settled in Duxburyfrom 6 March 1637 - 1638. He was from Sutton co., Kent; see deed of portion to his dau. Mary on her marriage with John Marshall, Nov. 29 1631. [ Suff.De.III,417 ] His dau. Elizabeth m. Mr. Thomas Thatcher, pastor at Weymouth and Boston. His son George had grant of land at Duxbury. He was a very efficient and usefel man; parcticed medicine beside pastorial duties.

Will, dated September 29, 1655, probably May 4, 1658; spoke of deceased wife Patience; bequeathed to daus. Mary , wife of John Marshall and her son Robert and John, and Elizabeth Thatcher, and her children, Thomas, Ralph, Peter and Patience; to his sister Elizabeth Tidge; to William Brett; to his servants Joseph Prior and Anna Reiner. Joseph married Hannah (PRIOR).

They had the following children:
i. Mary. Born abt 1664.

On 24 May 1682 Mary married John MITCHELL, in Duxbury, MA.
ii. Joseph. Born abt 1666. Joseph died in 1690.
iii. John. Born in 1668. John died in 1742 in Probably E. Bridgewater, MA.

In 1695 John first married Eleanor CHILDS.

In 1700 John second married Bethia ALLEN, in Probably E. Bridgewater, MA.
