3. Joseph GREENWAY. Born abt 1775 in Virgina. Was on the census for Roanoke Co., Virginia in 1850. Brother Nathan living in house hold listed as insane. Joseph died in , Craig Co., VA.

I found who I believe to be JOSEPH GREENWAY, son of GEORGE and DINAH GREENWAY in the 1850 VA Census Roanoke County page 265, with second wife MARY. Also found on the same page, SALLY GREENWAY listed as head of house 101 and a ELIZABETH BOLTON staying with her. I believe this to be the wife of RICHARD GREENWAY son of WILLIAM GREENWAY and ELIZABETH HUMPHRYS. There is a MARGARET BOLTON living in the RICHARD GREENWAY household #102, age 5, This RICHARD is the son of GEORGE GREENWAY. Also in JOSEPH'S household #103 is a CHARLES BOLTON age 3, and NATHAN GREENWAY age 45, listed as insane. Believe this to be JOSEPH'S AND RICHARD'S youngest brother.[18]

Joseph first married Mary. Born in 1810. Was on the census for Roanoke Co., Virginia in 1850.[18]

They had the following children:
i. Louisa. Born abt 1834 in Virgina.[18] Was on the census for 57th District, Roanoke Co., Virginia in 1850. 19 July 1850 page 265.
ii. Walker. Born abt 1837 in Virgina.[18] Was on the census for 57th District, Roanoke Co., Virginia in 1850. 19 July 1850 page 265.
iii. John. Born abt 1839 in Virgina.[18] Was on the census for 57th District, Roanoke Co., Virginia in 1850. 19 July 1850 page 265.

On 7 Mar 1822 Joseph second married Polly LAKELAND, daughter of George LAKELAND, in , Montgomery Co., Virginia.[19] Born in Virgina.

They had one child:
