9. Orrie Belle WELCH. Born on 1 Oct 1897 in Burnham, Howell Co., MO. Orrie Belle died in Hays, Ellis Co., KS on 25 Oct 1981; she was 84. Buried on 28 Oct 1981 in LaCrosse, Rush Co., Kansas. LaCrosse Cemetery.

Orrie's father lived with her until his death, as he survived his wife by a number of years.

Orrie and children joined John in Richmond, California in 1923. He worked for the Key System Transit Company, of Oakland, California. (At some point she returned home to LaCrosse, Kansas without John. This had to be between 1923 - 1928. As John spent the last four months of his life with his brother, Nathan Burt Greenway in Tuscon, Arizonia.)

On 16 Mar 1916 when Orrie Belle was 18, she married John Jackson GREENWAY[9], son of William Mottern GREENWAY (4 May 1845-20 Dec 1924) & Mildred Jane KEYES (28 Aug 1855-29 Jan 1923), in Great Bend, Barton Co., KS. Rush Co., Marriage Record Book 9 Lost. Born on 15 Jul 1895 in NW. LaCrosse, Rush Co., Kansas.[10] John Jackson died in Tucson, Pima Co., Arizona on 16 Apr 1928; he was 32.[10] Buried in LaCrosse, Rush Co., Kansas. LaCrosse Cemetery.

Notes for John Jackson Greenway:

In 1923, he accompanied his father to California and later sent for his family. They resided in Richmond, California, and he was in the employ of the Key System Transit Company as an electric motorman, in Oakland, California.

Orrie and the Children returned had returned to LaCrosse, Kansas. In 1928 John became ill. His illness lingered for five months. The last four months of his illness were spent with his brother, N. B. Greenway, in Tuscon, Arizona. Having attained the age of 32 years, 9 months, 1 day, he passed away 16th of April, 1928.

Military: Served in the Marines during WWII.

On 15 Aug 1944 when Robert James was 27, he married Elvora Mae WERTH, daughter of Alexander Emmeram WERTH & Alvina BOXLER, in Camp LeJeune, NC. Born on 6 May 1925 in Schoenchen, Rush County, Kansas.

iii. Milford Keith. Born on 10 Apr 1920 in LaCrosse, Rush Co., Kansas. Milford Keith died in Yuma, Yuma Co., AZ on 27 Nov 1990; he was 70. Buried on 4 Dec 1990 in LaCrosse, Rush Co. Kansas.

Military: Served in the Navy during WWII, Korea, and Viet Nam.[11]



On 19 Oct 1942 when Milford Keith was 22, he married Ruth Alberta LEBSACK, daughter of Henry Adam LEBSACK & Anna Maria SCHWARTZKOPF, in Carson City, , Nevada. Born on 9 Oct 1921 in Otis, Rush County, KS. Ruth Alberta died in Yuma, Yuma Co., Arizonia on 22 Oct 1982; she was 61. Buried on 28 Oct 1982 in LaCrosse, Rush Co. Kansas.
iv. Virginia Alice. Born on 16 Feb 1922 in LaCrosse, Rush Co., Kansas. Born on 16 Feb 1922 in LaCrosse, Rush Co., Kansas.

On 5 Nov 1939 when Virginia Alice was 17, she first married Frank ZIMMERMAN, in Jetmore, Hodgeman Co., Kansas. Born on 15 Jan 1915 in Ash Valley, Pawnee Co., Kansas. Frank died in Los Animas, , Colorado on 16 Feb 1965; he was 50. Buried in Feb 1965 in Jetmore, Hodgeman Co., Kansas.


On 24 Dec 1969 when Virginia Alice was 47, she second married Paul MARTIN, in Hays, Ellis Co., KS.

On 17 Aug 1974 when Virginia Alice was 52, she third married William Edward BALDWIN, in Jetmore, Hodgeman Co., KS.
